Summary

Allow a subscription to be paused and later resumed, without cancelling it.

Request

Provide a way to temporarily pause an active subscription — halting billing (and optionally access/entitlements) for the paused period — and then resume it later, picking the billing cycle back up rather than starting a brand-new subscription.

Why it matters

• Retention: a pause is a softer alternative to cancellation for customers who need a temporary break.
• Vacation / seasonal holds: customers who don't need the product for a period can pause instead of churning.
• Affordability: lets customers step away briefly and come back without losing history/config.

Notes

Should support both merchant-initiated and (optionally) customer-initiated pause/resume, with clear handling of billing dates and entitlements during the paused window.
